If necessary, you will visit our Chatham practice every 6-8 weeks during your treatment to ensure everything is going according to plan.

How does Invisalign® work?

1. We take 3-D digital impressions of your mouth with our iTero intraoral scanner at your initial Invisalign® visit, eliminating the need to take physical impressions. If you are thinking about using Invisalign® to straighten your teeth, our scanner will make the procedure more accurate and enjoyable.
2. You’ll be given a set of aligners to wear. Each progressively transforms your teeth into your ideal smile, one step at a time. Each aligner is worn for specific period of time before moving on to the next in the sequence.
3. Treatment duration may vary based on your situation, but typically you can expect to wear your aligners for nine to fifteen months.

How will I know whether Invisalign® is right for me?

If you’ve decided that Invisalign® is an option you’d like to explore for straightening your teeth, your dentist can perform a “Clin-check,” in which moulds and photographs of your teeth are transmitted to Invisalign®. At your follow-up visit, you will be able to witness a live 3D animation of how your teeth will appear when they are finished. This is a unique approach to examine a ‘before and after’ to assist you in deciding whether or not to proceed.

Is it necessary for me to use a retainer following treatment?

Wearing retainers is recommended as long as you want your teeth to remain secure in their place. There is a danger of tooth relapse if a retainer is not worn.

Damon™

Damon™ is closer to the traditional fixed brace, with the added advantage of clear brackets and innovative wire arch technology. This allows for faster, more reliable results and more comfortable wear than traditional fixed braces.

How does this orthodontic system work?

The Damon™ System revolves around passive self-ligating braces. These eliminate the need for elastic or metal “ties,” enabling you to receive treatment without tightening.
