What is endodontic treatment?

Endodontic treatment, often referred to as a root canal, is a dental procedure aimed at saving a severely infected or damaged tooth. It involves removing the infected pulp from inside the tooth, cleaning and disinfecting the root canals, and then filling and sealing them to prevent further infection.

Why would our dentists recommend endodontic treatment?

Our dentists in Chatham may recommend endodontic treatment when a tooth’s pulp becomes infected or inflamed. This can occur due to deep decay, repeated dental procedures on the tooth, a crack or chip, or trauma to the tooth.
